I am very nearly at the end of painting for the show this summer and feel exhausted but as pleased as anything! I think this is my best show ever (but I do always think that). This morning I took my puppy to the North coast for a walk that I've become addicted to since discovering it a few weeks ago. It is Gwithian Towans - miles of sand dunes and a huge beach. The first time we went there I couldn't wipe the smile off my face because it was just perfect. It has an otherworldly atmosphere, and as you walk through the dunes you can hear the booming surf and then silence as the dunes themselves stop the sound, and then all you can hear is bird song. So there we both were this morning, grinning from ear to ear and - even though I had a bag of poo in one hand and the beginnings of a sore throat - it was a wonderful walk and has stayed with me all day. Now I'm at home colouring in (as my husband calls it) and looking forward to a lovely glass of wine.
